Coaching as a Leadership Strategy

Description:

Disruptive change and the increased pace of doing business are both challenges for today’s leader - and they are also the new norm.  Leaders at all levels are realizing they need to adjust the way they lead others, especially when the workforce is geographically dispersed or working in a matrixed organizational structure. Using the old “command and control” style of telling employees what to do is simply not effective because employees perform better when they feel empowered to act and have clear goals.  Learning to coach employees “in the moment” is one of the most valuable skills you can ever use. Your coaching skills can help your team achieve stronger results while building trust and respect between you and your direct reports.

Because coaching can’t be learned in a passive manner, you’ll have the opportunity to practice specific coaching skills using common work situations and actual employee situations from your current work environment. Become the leader/coach that employees want to follow!
