Description: 

This course introduces you to the tools to develop practical strategies that focus on a client's goals and objectives to develop a beneficial estate plan. You will learn how to examine the taxation of gifts, estates, and generation-skipping transfers. The Estate Planning course includes the calculation of these taxes and examines applicable exclusions and deductions.

Topics include:

  • Lifetime transfers and gifting
  • Charitable gifting
  • Utilization of trusts and partnerships
  • Postmortem planning

Students are required to attend each online class during the designated timeframe. Please note that classes are not recorded and no make-up classes will be available.

Prerequisites: 

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university must be completed either before you pass the CFP® exam, or within five years after you pass it.
