To protect their financial futures, people need the sound financial guidance you can provide by achieving the CFP® certification through CPE’s seven-course financial planning education program. If you have experience in finance, have made major financial decisions or have a background in any sales capacity, you already have skills you can take to the job.
We offer a comprehensive curriculum covering seven essential topics to ensure you meet the educational requirements to sit for the CFP® Certification Exam. Our Austin-based instructors are professionals working in the field who have the skills to help you succeed. For over 15 years, they have provided real-world examples and relevant knowledge to students who have benefited from their expertise and local networks.
The program is customizable in that professionals can choose when it makes sense to take each of the seven courses. When taken in succession, you can choose a fast track and complete the program in as little as a year or a standard track for up to two years. Upon successful completion of the program, you will earn a certificate of completion from UT Austin, ranked among the 40 best universities in the world.

An undergraduate degree is required for this program.
Fee does not include the cost of textbooks, which is approximately $980. A textbook list and ordering instructions will be provided after registration for the program. To ensure delivery of textbooks before classes begin, you are strongly encouraged to order your textbooks a minimum of 7 business days before the start of each course.

(CFP Board) owns the CFP® certification mark, the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification mark, and the CFP® certification mark (with plaque design) logo in the United States, which it authorizes use of by individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
